I feel your pain. I am a little over 3 months post-Ross Procedure and am having seasonal allergy, winter cold, flu-like conditions off and on, since. I guess I am really just wanting too much too soon. I have cried to my cardiologist, surgeon, and primary physician about various ailments. Of course, I am now starting to realize I am doing too much and not resting near enough. I was back to work in 3 weeks, full time. Moved from a second story apartment to a second story home at about 9 weeks (and foolishly moved boxes and smaller TV's myself) and have been back on my Electra Glide for about 2 1/2 weeks.
I have been complaining of very little energy mid-afternoon, too. My primary called my cardio who suggested I cut my Toporol in half for a few days and see if I get any energy gain. He said to then try taking it in the evenings for a week and see how I felt. I am taking the extended release (BTW, still not generic for this and it is EXPENSIVE). Lastly, he said if I am not feeling better just taking it in the evening, to stop completely for a week and see if I get my energy back.
He actually suggested, if none of this works, that I may have low grade depression/anxiety from the surgery, and may prescribe me a little something to help with that, for a short while. I must admit, I do run "what if" scenarios in my mind lot's: what if I cough or sneeze and it damages my chest/valve.....yada yada...I have never been anything but really active, always on the go, and this is really hard for me, having to take it easy.
I guess this is really a bigger deal than I tried to make it. Really life changing stuff going on here.
I am feeling a little better taking my Toporol in the evenings. We will see...
