Well with all things considered and still in ICU, Zipper is doing "great" and "they got her up and walking today even though the ICU isn't really set up or staffed to take a patient for a walk, but she's doing really good".

Meds are controlling the A-fib and there's talk of her coming home Thursday or Friday.

I sent our Best Wishes to Hubby Dale and told him we can't wait to hear from Deb herself.

So, I guess this will be my last up-date until I hear from Deb herself and/or until she does some posting.

Is her AFib as a result of the surgery or did she have it before she went in?
Regardless I hope it recedes on its own as it does with so many of us.
Thanks for keeping us informed -I've been thinking of her--Dina

Great News Freddie. So happy that Deb is doing so good. Up and walking is
great. Look forward to hearing from her later. Give her some (((HUGS))) and let her know we are thinking about her and miss her.:)

Glad to hear zipper is improving, the next day after my operation I was asking my husband to check in to see if there was any update on her. I'll continue praying for her.

Well it sounds like Deb will/might be coming home tomorrow.
She sounds FANTASTIC and ready to use a taser on anyone who say's "NO" to her. :)
She was moved into a private room this morning and her INR as of today is 2.0.

She has 2 pictures of her surgery, hasn't looked at them yet and says "pumbhead" is doing a number on her.
All is good and Thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

Hi Dina, Deb has Afib due to the scar tissue formed during her bout with endocarditis 17 years ago. The surgeon performed an ablation during this MVR and scar excision but I gather it didn't work perfectly. For three days in a row they attempted a cardioversion but those attempts to correct her rhythm were less than they'd hoped as well. So, the team started her on meds and those have been keeping her afib under control.

It's hoped that as healing progresses then the afib will convert on its own into normal sinus rhythm.

Take Heart,
Pamela.

I'm really hoping it converts, and it is even probable ,I think.
I also had endocarditis exactly 17 years ago.
A bad year for us I guess.
Glad she is doing well, and thanks for the updates and info.

So glad to hear she may be going home tomorrow. It is tough leaving the security of the hospital but so good to have it all over with. I know she will be happy to be home with her own things around her.
