I just finished talking on the phone with Zip and she has had some positive events happen today. Apparently Dr Modry took one look at her file and confirmed surgery for next week. They will give her all of the details this afternoon. There's a small concern over her being anticoagulated, however, I suspect that will be dealt with once she's in Edmonton and into the admitting process. There's more info on that brewing.

Her PCP is relieved that her case is jumping forward. As we all understand, once your symptoms get worse, the faster they get worse. He's noted more fluid retention and definite heart enlargement. I just know they will not keep Zipper waiting any longer than neccessary, I wish the surgical teams hadn't made her wait as long as she already has; that's water under the bridge, though and now she can cross the river without worrying about the logs in the current.

So, I'm celebrating with warm tea and snow angels. I believe positive news makes positive thoughts and prayers easier to hear, so keep them headed Zipper's way, please.

Take Heart,
Pamela.

Thanks so much for posting an update, Pamela. I will keep the prayers going that things get underway for Zip next week so that she can get on the road to recovery sooner than later.
Please tell her we are thinking of her!

I've been hoping to read news like this. Thanks for sharing, Pamela. Glad to hear other surgeon is stepping in to get her surgery done already. She's been through so much for way too long.

Best thoughts going out for Zipper.

Yeah! Great. Feels weird to be happy that someone is having surgery, but after all that. wait, yeah! All the best, hope next week works out.

I'm glad to read this. There are many ways they can deal with the fact that she's anticoagulated - Vit. K, fresh-frozen plasma. Plus if the surgery is more than 3 days out - she can still just stop and bridge.

So happy to log in today & read these news!! Yahoo! I'm glad that Deb won't have to wait much longer to have her surgery & get on with her life!

Thanks for the update Pamela & tell Deb she's in my prayers!!! :)

Lets also pray (real hard) that this surgeon doesn't break his leg or anything else until he completes Deb's surgery.

Thanks so much for the GOOD news Pamela. I'll try to give her a call tonight.

great news. however, I am not betting.
I know what you mean, Ann. It's been so long and so many things can go the wrong direction.

Right now I find that I simply breathe easier knowing that she's in the hands of my very good surgeon, Dr Modry. Unfortunately, weather is holding us down in this part of the continent. Lest it cause too much grief, I continue to push positive energy eastward for Deb and to the south for the surgeons and the care teams who'll make all the healing possible.

Take Heart,
Pamela
