Dear VR friends, I`m still gutted witht he news I got only 2 days ago during a doctor`s visit to discuss my radio therapy treatment. To cut a long story short, the onchologist started by saying that there`s no guarantees that it will work and that it will definitely cause some permanent damage to my heart due to the location of the tumour and after that, I won`t be able to get heart surgery as no doctors will do it. However, without the radiotherapy i will definitely die. But the worst is yet to come. She also said that the cancer I have is very agressive and it was caught too late and they can`t operate on it so it will never be cured, and that the life spam of people like myself is of 40% of making 3 to 5 years and that I shkould consider my family and daughter in Brazil and where i want to be. Needless to say, I felt worse than ever before and I still feel numb. Joe was with me then and we left the ;place with no much to say to each otehr for a while. When I asked about how I`m supposed to live with this narrowing valve once it gets to the point of really needing surgery, she said there are other ways, but didn`t go into details, and I was just too devistated to ask any further questions.. I`ve heard of this machine called something like radio surgery- novales 4D that is now getting used to treat lung tumours precisely without damaging other tissues but I wasn`t offered that, and I was wondering if that wouldn`t preserve my heart. Anyone heard of it?
Anyway, Joe and I are moving to Brazil in November as I`ve been too lonely here and I want to be near my family and above all, Bruna. I`m praying that with the love and care I`ll get there I`ll beat the odds.
Nothing else to day.
Hugs,
Debora

So sorry to hear the doctor's report. I pray that you will find some therapy that will defeat that tumor -- praying that you will beat the odds.

Hi Deborah,

Sorry to hear about your situation. It will be nice to be closer to your daughter. All the best to you on your move.

Here is a link to a therapy that is used in the US. Friend of mine owns and operates a potrable clinic. They treat patients on hospital site. High patient success rate. They isolate the tumor and it shrinks. Sometimes, completley dissolves!
Good Luck to you:)

Sorry to hear about your prognosis. You should keep researching, there is always new therapies and treatments coming out. I hope the best for you.

What devastating news, Deborah. I am so sorry to hear this. You have been through it all in the years we have known you. Every day new things are being developed and there always may be a new answer for you. You know that we are standing alongside you while you travel this dangerous road. Your mother and your daughter will be a great help to you. God be with you, my dear.

Debora-

My heart goes out to you and this terrible news. I am glad you have decided to go back home to Brazil and that your wonderful husband is going with you. Your family can shower you with love and care, and that will help you fight whatever needs to be fought. Stay strong. Never give up.

You are in my prayers.

Deborah.... So sorry to read this and wish you the very, very best. It sounds like a great decision to move back to Brazil to be with your loving family. You and your husband and family will fight this together. Stay strong. You're an inspiration for all you have been through and you will continue fighting.

Debora - you have my continued prayers. Keep fighting. Don't let these diseases rob you of enjoying the life you are given whether it be 3 years or 30.

Dear Debbie,

I'm so saddened to hear such bleak news but the doctors are NOT God! Only God decides our fate & for as long as there's life, there's HOPE; you must never give up hope or your faith in the Lord.

I'm glad to hear that you will be moving to Brazil to be closer to your family --- that will greatly improve your outlook on things too.

My prayers are always with you & please stay in touch & we'll keep praying for a miracle --- Miracles do happen you know! :)

That`s nice to see how many people care for me. In general I feel fine except for the annoying cough which according to the doctor is caused by the tumour, something to do with the nerve causing an irritation but it should disappear with radio therapy. I ended up not being able to get the last chemo because of the infection I had and they don`t want to risk putting more strain on the heart. They`re hoping my body will cope with the radio therapy too, but I must say, I`m afraid of this thing about the radiation damaging my heart. I`ll be having radio therapy nearly every day through the month of October and this should make me very tired. Then I`ll get a ct scan to see the outcome. Keep your fingers crossed for me as I really need to get a good result.
Hugs
Debora
