I pray you start feeling better and don't have any more of these episodes. I laugh so much when people or doctor's tell you not to panic. It's your basic human instinct to panic if your heart doesn't beat like it's supposed to. Even if you know they aren't dangerous, you still worry. Sometimes i think my heart is just an idiot.:D

Bina, hoping this post finds you better today.
Keep us informed on your results and good vibes being
sent your way.:)

Boy oh boy! A computer virus plus in-laws coming to stay with you. That's enough to get anyone's heart racing!!

Actually, about a year an a half ago my heart did the same thing but only for about a minute or two.

Let us know the results of the Holter Monitor.

So, when do you expect the results Bina?
Make sure you let us know okay.

I like the tent idea for the in-laws, but a motel would be a bit further away.

Take care and rest.

Hello Bina and I hope you are doing better.
I have had many different types of palpitations,SVT's,etc. Some were a.flutter, others I still don't know.
I have experienced the waking with tachycardia for years off and on.
And I still don't know what causes it but didn't rule out nightmare.
Since my VR I don't have them as frequently though.
I have also experienced the waking,anxiety-type tachycardias and these
should not just be swept under the rug. While in the hospital and on a
cardizem drip, my heart rate shot up to 188(from 110) and the nurse ran
into my room gave me an iv injection and it went down to 120 within
seconds. I asked her what she gave and it was ativan, I didn't even know
that there had been an order for it-but it did work. I was woozy afterward
and wouldn't want to take it regularly, but it's great for an emergency.
The metoprolol was not as helpful. I was put on a high dose(250mg/day)
and still went into another SVT during the regimen. I don't mean to say
that it doesn't help in other situations, it was just that this was prior to
my VR and I was very symptomatic.
Best wishes--Dina

BIna, I'm just catching the tail end of your thread and hope things are settling down. Although I haven't experienced what you did, I often use various stress reducing techniques, such as deep breathing. They do work. Best wishes going out to you....

Hi Bina,

I surely hope you are back to your perky self. Your Nubes have ears like my Cavalier, nice to run hands up and down. When I'm stressed I enjoy nose to nose encounters with my horse. Nice, even breaths, sweetly scented. From your posts about in-laws and viruses I'd be stressed too. Rapid heartbeats are uncomfortable to say the least.

Best wishes

Sandra

I'm having a nice "alone" day today.....the only thing missing is my dear old horse. He was my best medicine.
So, I guess kissing my thin lipped goats will have to suffice for now. (they actually are pretty good kissers), but they don't always have the sweet breath of a horse!
I wonder when the doc will have my results.....

Hummmm..........:

Norma, my darling nubians are my de-stressor......actually I'm probably rattled because last week my computer had a nasty virus, I've only got one field of hay cut, and Sept.6-7 my in-laws are coming to visit.
Pass the Ativan!!! ha ha

I was just snooping thru some of your previous posts Bina ---- did your in-laws come by finally? I never heard if they did or didn't & did you cope w/it okay? (you were having bad HR issues then too....remember?)

Hope you're not stressing over too much?

Norma, yes the in-laws came on Sept.6 and 7th. Then my hubby got them safely on the bus on the 8th.
We put them up in the Motel in the next town and hubby drove them back and forth.
That seemed to work out quite well.
I find it very draining to try and make small talk all day, so they went for a couple of nice walks around the farm, etc.
