Yesterday I had my 7 1/2 month follow up echo and cardiologist appointments. I am happy to report no more leakey valves and no more murmur.

I have the green light to get on with living normally!

My next big task is to complete the 60km Weekend To End Breast Cancer Walk benefitting Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto - this will be my 6th year. The walk takes place September 6 and 7th. To learn more about this event go to www.endcancer.ca

I'll post after the event with my successess.

Congratulations on a great appointment and good luck with your walk.

So happy to know that your doctor appt. was GREAT! So get on with your life & enjoy every minute of the day! :)

Hope you have wonderful weather for your walk in September!

Excellent! Good luck with your training, having a goal keeps us focused, IMHO. :)

60km walk accomplished!

60km walk accomplished!

Hi everyone,

It rained, rained, and rained but about 4700 of us walked 60km (37.5 mi) over 2 days in the 2008 Toronto Weekend To End Breast Cancer raising $13 + million dollars.

Valves worked just fine ... but my hair was a mess.

This was my 6th walk and have signed up to #7.

Thanks for your encouragement and support.

Nope, didn't see them

Nope, didn't see them

congrats judy. good to hear the valves performed OK, but sorry about the hair.

Did you see a couple of women with "tits'r'us" t-shirts? looks like the toys'r'us logo ....

Everyone was covered by either green garbage bags or rain poncho's for much of the weekend so we didn't get to see all of the great themed shirts. We were hoping that we would get to see some of the rich and famous from the Toronto International Film Festival to cheer us on but I'm sure that the rain kept them indoors. We were the stars for sure.

congrats! Always good when the checkups are!

Just had my check up Monday, just over 2 years. Doctor was extremely happy with my blood pressure, the heart function and size has returned to normal. He also said the new valve is performing flawlessly. Unfortunately that won't get me out of me next surgery.... which appears to be coming up, meet wth doc on 22nd, colonoscopy showed a large, to this point non-cancerous polyp. Maybe they will fix one or both of my hernias while they are at it. Would be nice to at least get the incisional one from heart surgery fixed.
