Hello,
This is a quick note to let you all know that Rob made it through surgery yesterday and appears to be doing fine. It was an extremely LONG day, and there were a few hiccups, but overall I guess it went well.
We will post at a later date, but wanted to at least let you know he is ok.
Nancy~

That's great news.

Tell him he can walk down the hall to the lounge.

There's a computer down there he can use to log in.

Just hang all those tubes and other apparatus hanging off him on the IV stand and head on down.:)

Thanks, Nancy, for taking the time to give us an update.
I hope you get some rest; you will have a few nights once you're home when it's hard to sleep. The same goes for Rob. Lack of sleep was my biggest complaint post-surgery.

Thanks for taking the time to post, Nancy. Mary is right- get some sleep now while he is in good hands. Your real work will begin once you bring him home. Look forward to hearing that he is having an uneventful recovery.

Thank you for taking the time out of your stressful journey to let us know how Rob is doing!! Very sweet!

I know he will want to learn everything he can about the "hiccups" because he won't remember them (hopefully!).

Take care of yourself through all this. He will be needing you.

Best wishes for a strong recovery!

Marguerite

Excellent news. Thanks for posting, Nancy. Sending best wishes Rob has an easy, uneventful recovery.

Hip Hip Hooray! Everyone else covered what I'd say, so just be there for him as much as possible. It makes all the difference in the world to him.

thanks for taking time from your very long and hard day to let us know he's over the mountain and doing well. Let him know that prayers still go and that we left the light on for him. Blessins............

I'm glad Rob's on the way to recovery.

Sleep WALK eat WALK rest WALK listen to your wife WALK follow doctor's orders WALK...

I think that nearly covers it. Oh, did I mention how important it is to WALK?

Take Heart,
Pamela.

Hello Everyone, What a whack in the chest this is! I am listening to all of your kind advice and trying to walk eat and sleep as much as possible. The constant cocktail of drugs seems to take a toll on my system, that and being woken every hour or so. Tonight they tell me it won't be quite so often.

Once again, Thank You all for the kind replys, I will post again soon.

Rob

Rob, good to see you up and moving ! Yeah, it is quite a whack in the chest, isn't it lol But, with a sense of humour like that, I am sure you will be home and doing what you like doing best (now, is that eating, sleeping or napping?:D) Keep up the good work!

Even when they don't wake you every hour or so, you may find it hard to get comfortable for a while, and wake up on your own anyway ...Don't be surprises, that's why napping is so important at the early stages.
