One of my favorites is gone. I'll miss him a lot.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - George Carlin, the dean of counterculture comedians whose biting insights on life and language were immortalized in his “Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV” routine, died of heart failure Sunday. He was 71.

At work we use afew of his quotes
1 tequila 2 tequila 3 tequila......hit the floor
Thers nights when the wolves are silent and the moon howls
He was the greatest for his jokes and well be missed
strenght and prayers out to his family.

I owe him. He's the reason Glenn (who's HORRIBLE on names) remembered mine when we met. I told him "It's Karlynn, just like George Carlin. Only not spelled the same." So he called me George.

He was very funny and will be missed.

a sad day indeed.

apparently he died of heart failure. it'll be interesting to see the exact cause, whether it was a heart attack, undiagnosed aneurysm, etc.:(

George will be missed by many I'm sure.
I have used his quote for many years as you can see.

I think it's down to more like 5 words now.

I mean is "tits" so bad? The word I mean. :D

And "piss." "Pissed off" is used commonly.

The "f" word -- "f" bomb -- we all know what that word is. Don't have to write it here, do I?

Ladies, is the "c" word objectionable? I wouldn't use it in mixed company, but then I am an old-fashioned Southern gentleman.

The term about having sex with a mother seems too crude to say but it is practically every other word in a certain culture.

C-sucking....not a nice word, but "it sucks" is part of the regular lexicon.

And then there is the four-letter word for excrement. I'd rather just say "crap" and leave it at that. :p

George Carlin was a funny c-sucker, and really an intelligent guy with a contrarian view that was at times refreshing.

Still (here is the old fogey in me) I worry sometimes about the coarsening of our culture, and whether we are really headed to a better place as a result. I don't blame Carlin for that; he raised the issue and he made us laugh.

And yes I do believe in free speech, free press, freedom of religion -- all the good stuff in the First Amendment.

I still remember the huge list of curse words. I heard most of them but the one that I had never heard was Mongolian Cluster F@&k.... he was a funny man.

I still remember when I first hear he was the voice in "Thomas the Tank" I thought someone was pulling my leg. I could just see it "And Thomas went to get his friend Percy, but he said 'Ah, F-It' and went somewhere else instead."
