My dad

My dad died Saturday. He had a heart attack on June 27 and spent two and a half weeks in the ICU fighting ARDS before his kidneys failed and his heart just finally stopped. He was only 56.

This happened just over a year after my own heart problems. How much more stress can my family take?? Life just doesn't seem fair. But now I know what it's like to be on the other side of the bed. I hated being in the hospital (I spent quite a few weeks there over the past year,) but it's even worse when it's another family member. At least my mom has four daughters. I hope we are some comfort to her.

I just wanted to share. My dad was a great man.

I'm so sorry about your dad. I too lost my dad at a young age...he was 47 and I was still in college. It's really tough...especially when your dad was a "great dad" like you and I think of ours. And it does seem that life isn't fair...especially when most people your age haven't gone through a fraction of what you have. I still think of my dad often and the grief has slowly turned into fond memories and gratefulness for having a wonderful person for a father. Take care of yourself and know that you're not alone. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts.
