Thanks for the birthday wishes. By coincidence, on my birthday I got invited to an event up on the Hill after work (in the DC area the "Hill" describes an area around Capital Hill), which was nice. I was talking to this nice lady for a while, and noticed she had a plunging neckline. I told her that if I had my shirt unbuttoned like that she'd see a big scar. Well, she responded that she had a big scar! I said that I hadn't really been looking that close, but sure enough she had the zipper cut. Turns out she had AVR with St Jude mechanical in 1996. Our conversation sure took a turn for the better after that. She's the first person I've met that had AVR; almost all the folks I met in the hospital were for bypass or stents. She was not familiar with vr.com, but after I told her about it she said she would check it out. She gave me a big hug when she had to leave, and that sure felt good coming from a fellow valver. :D So I had a great birthday! :)

Thanks to vr.com and members for all the great info and interchange!
