Got my registration card in the mail yesterday. I now have a registration, serial, and model number. I am officially being tracked. I know this is required by the FDA and for security purposes in case I set off any metal detectors anywhere I can pull out the card and prove that I have a titanium ring in my heart! Can anyone here shed any light on this?
Thanks...

Hello

Hello

I have two ID cards. One for my valve showing the model and serial number, date of implant etc. I also have one for my pacemaker again showing make, model, lead length etc and implant date. They stop any awkward questions at security and I dont have to go through the magnetic barriers at airports, although this bit is because of my PM, not my valve. Here in England we are not traceable or trackable by these cards.

I thought the main reason for the card is so that if there is a device recall, you will be able to check your make, model, and serial number to see if yours is one of the ones that is being recalled. Also to tell your doctors what exactly was implanted in you, in case of any medical questions.
That's right.
And the secondary use for the card could be airport security.
