I'll tell you what my wife and I do - NOTHING! :D We decided early in our first year together that we wouldn't do anything for either V-tines or X-mas. Just birthdays, which we tend to do up really well. I won't go on the "Hallmark Holiday" rant, but she would if she were here. Basically, I've always found that I can buy flowers on Feb 16 for about 1/4 as much, and go out for dinner on Feb 17 and not have to make a reservation. If you're with the right woman, the thought should count the same...

(I'm now covering my head in anticipation of the VR female mob throwing heavy objects in my direction.)

:D

So my funny rendevous didn't spark any plans for any of you???

Ya'll need to get creative..
how about a little dance for your man ladies.. give him a back rub..tell him how much you appreciate how hard he works, or find something special about him and write him a love letter.

men women love to be romanced... hire a maid for a month..give her a massage/light candles order in draw her a bath..shampoo her hair.. take her to a place she has never been before.. a show, the city, a fancy restaurant, a hotel plan ahead have wine chilling .. flowers waiting..
Catch her off guard romance her on teh 13th instead of the 14! You don't need a day to let her know how much you love her.

Marky, I loved your rendezvous experience. But want to hear more story's/ideas

Marky's idea is great Freddie.

They say that a change of scenery can ignite things :) :) so why don't you book a room in a hotel/motel (you don't even have to leave town, just stay local and book according to your budget) and have a nice dinner, a few wines, a movie or some nice music, and see what happens???;) ;)

Our local newspaper is running a competition ahead of Valentines Day, and all you do is fill out and send in the entry form...the prize is a night for two at a local hotel, with a romantic dinner and breakfast included. I've already sent in the form, and am hoping, although I never win anything, lol....

We got married on the 15th Feb and this year will be our 16th anniversary.

Someone told me years ago

Someone told me years ago

when I was dating an old beau (who broke my heart big time) that Valentine's Day is the men's responsibility, so ever since I don't try too hard on V-Day. :) Come to think of it...maybe that is why the guy dumped me. lol

This year - my hubby and I will most likely go out to eat, exchange cards and chocolates -and I will be expecting not red, but my favorite white roses from my husband. :) He is finally getting that right! However, he told me what he spent one year on V-Day on the roses and I told him NEVER to spend that kind of money again - such a waste! Wayne does not like V-Day - he doesn't like the pressure and I don't blame him. Wayne says that Valentine's Day should be every day with the one you love. :D

Even tough Cooker started this thread, it seems to have been directed to me...but thats okay.
I like the hotel story and really thought about doing it. I really thought with so many creative minds out there, there would have been more ideas and stories to be shared. BUT thats okay! I've come down with bronchitis and won't be doing to much......if anything...........maybe just a bunch of wishful thinking:D

Wishing you all a
Happy Valentine's Day

A guy at work makes his own wine and he brought me 2 small bottles of Chocolate Raspberry port for my husband and I to celebrate Valentines with. I thought that was very sweet. I am making Valentines cupcakes for me to bring to work tomorrow for everyone.

I'm going to spend my gift card tomorrow in the bakery in the mall, all hand-made stuff, really good, really expensive stuff (high-class mall I am in, all boutique-style stores - and chimp cars parked in front lol) .

One year, I "hi-jacked" my DH - his mother lived with us, and my parents were on vacation, so I left an envelope with his mother. It had $20.00 in it, and instructions to call a cab and take it to Mum and Dad's place. I had gone over the night before with groceries etc., and we had a good night, neither TV nor phones were hooked up . .. .but the gas fireplace was .

It's our 27th anniversary tomorrow (Valentine's Day) so we are going out to dinner. Having our anniversary on Valentine's Day makes it more difficult for my hubby to forget the date!!;) :D

You can always take your rendevous Next Week..WHEN he would never expect it:D

To all the hearts on this forum

To all the hearts on this forum

Spend as much time as you can on St. Valentine's Day with your sweetie and keep taking good care of yourself all year long.

No gift or material thing can match you being there. Everything else is just stuff.

Stay well!

I'm taking my sweetie to the dentist first thing tommorow.
I will sit and wait for her, does that sound romantic?
After almost 48 years with her she knows what to expect from me.
Maybe I will take her to breakfast, that is if she can feel her mouth.:D

PS:If she sees this I may face sudden death tommorow.

Happy anniversary, hubby and I were also married 27 years ago on valentine's day, it was one of the hotest days on record for february 44c (approx 111f).
I also thought it would make it easier for hubby to remember our anniversary but unfortunatly he is the most unromantic person god put on this earth so needless to say we're not doing anything ......again.....still
