Apologies for not posting sooner, but between the holiday to Florida and work I haven't had the chance. (I'll post all about the hol on small talk asap :) )
It was amazing :)

Things have moved along pretty fast with the documentary and surgery.
I go in on Monday the 10th with surgery first thing on the morning of the 11th.

If it is a Valve replacement with the ascending aorta (only) my surgeon will use an ATS.
If it is the valve and the aorta en-block (bentalls) then he will use a St.Jude's
conduit. After extensive debate, I have agreed with, and fully supportt hese choices.

Surprisingly, I am pretty relaxed about it at the minute. I suppose I have finally accepted that it is pretty much out of my hands at this stage, and can only hope and pray that all goes well!!

I have to shoot here, but hopefully will get the chance to post some more details about the documentary etc.

Take care

Kevin

Best of luck with surgery, wish you a very speedy recovery, hope you manage to have a brilliant christmas while you are recovering, take care

It is nice to see you post and I'm glad you had a nice holiday in Florida. It seems you are well on track and comfortable with your game plan. I'm ever so glad you had the time to research your options and are heading into surgery an informed participant. Enjoy your days before surgery and stay away from those with sniffles and flu....you sure don't need that!

"Relaxed" is good. Sometimes just knowing when it's going to happen can be a great relief. We're all hoping things go very well for your surgery. Take care and post again when you can.

Hey, Kevin. Glad to know you finally have your date set - sorry it's so close to Christmas, but at least it will soon be behind you. Just stay relaxed. All will be well.

We will be look forward to your post about your trip.

Kevin, it's official! I put it on the calendar. Wishing you the best!

Kevin, a relaxed and informed patient- couldn't be better. We will cheer you over the mountain and look forward to all good news.

Good Luck Kevin, though it will be close to the holidays. The New Year will bring you new beginnings and better health.

Kevin, 11 (Dec.) sounds like a good number! :) I had a Bentall's Procedure and am doing fine. Confident you will do well too. Sounds like you have done your homework. Know the waiting is difficult but just try to relax as best you can. You should be a new man by the New Year -- well into recovery.

All best wishes,

Thought I'd just bump this up, hoping he's lined someone up to post an update for him...

Oh my goodness, I missed wishing you well when this post first came out. You should be out of surgery by now, wishing you all the best for an uneventful recovery! Got my fingers & toes crossed for you right now, take care!
