I just realized a feel a compulsion to write about my daily walks/adventures with Sadie but this is not the place to do that. This forum is about pre- and post-VR, not my personal journal. I apologize. As of now, I will start writing about my walks on my blog.

Wise, I don't know how I missed your Night Before Thankgiving poem! It was terrific - I got a really good laugh. You are very creative!

Hello y'all!! The banter has been SO fun!! I loved the translations. I must admit... I'm a Northerner even though I was born south of the Mason/Dixon line..... I only speak north! ;)

Congrats to all you restrained people!!! Good job staying true to your cause!!

As promised, I jumped on the scales today and I'm only up 1 pound. Tomorrow will be different. Today is the nosh all day day and then my cream filled leftover dish. Not to mention leftover pie! I make the best (not shy about this) pumpkin pie with brandy and ginger in it. Fresh whip cream has ginger and vanilla and then you sprinkle crystallized ginger on top. I'm kind of lactose intolerant and so I usually just put a teaspoon of whip cream on mine. Not last night! Oh my, I went back and took a tablespoon out and sprinkled that sweet sugary ginger just on some whip cream  just for a "cook's treat"!! I think this stuff creeps up on you. I think we'll all be moaning at the scales on Tuesday!!

So tonight is my 3rd big meal prep in 3 days. I'm tired!!! First my son's birthday bash, last night the big turkey spread and tonight inlaws and fancy leftover casserole. Phew!!! I figure all day in the kitchen for 3 days kept me from pigging out at the table. I was very watchful of my portions.

Well, I shoo-ed the family out to a movie and I'm going to go chill out in front of a fireplace somewhere for an hour and then get back to the kitchen!!!

Sounds like everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. Thanks to you all for helping me stay controlled in all these weeks before and after our big holiday. You do come to mind as a watchful conscience and I earnestly appreciate all of you!!

:D Marguerite

Don't feel like you can't post about your daily walks here! They are great. And they do pertain to this site. You're going on walks to better your health. Your dog also betters your health through motivation and love. So write away! :D

I agree with Nikki. If you stop, you'll be taking away from our total Throw Down experience. Every little bit of motivation for the whole groups helps!!

I'm holding steady at 158 pounds. I guess the exertion of slaving all day in the kitchen balances out the overeating! We were 15 for Thanksgiving and two days later are down to six--the usual four plus one set of parents. My 15 year-old son broke his leg on Tuesday, so that little ER adventure stole several hours of prep time and a key support person, plus another two hours on Wednesday spent taking him for follow-up with the orthopedic surgeon. Next Wednesday they'll put him in a permanent cast (too swollen now), which he will hopefully be able to walk in. He broke it doing parkour ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour )--was attempting a "king kong jump" from the roof of a spiral slide at the park (15 ft.?).

I think your son must have missed this part of the definition: "Efficiency also involves avoiding injuries, short and long-term, " ;)

Seriously, though, I hope he heals quickly and I hope you survive his injury! ;)

Oh, and congratulations on maintaining! Woo-hoo! :D

Holding steady is great, PJ! I am afraid to even step on the scales. I know I would have to have gained a few-- the problem being not so much quantity as all the rich foods I've eaten the past few days. Oh well, Thanskgiving was great, but I hope to be back on track by next week.

Bumping Cookers weigh-lost back up to top..so members can see where it was re-located......I did well over Thanksgiving...Of course ..chasing the Grands around helped.:p ..Even dinner for my Hubby's birthday on Friday night at Red Lobster. (oh, those cheese biscuits)..didn't give me a gain..:) Hoping for maybe a 1/2 lb loss by the next weigh-in..Bonnie

I would just like to go on record as saying that I ate everything this weekend. There is no food left in Tennessee:D  But I did good today, two of my companions had a touch of food poisoning so that kept my appetite supressed....if ya know what I mean....
I will post on Friday and take my lumps like a chimp:D

Good to be home, missed you.:)

Welcome back, Cooker! You may not take any more vacations! everything falls to pieces without you. Even SUPERBOB's powers were not sufficient.:D :p

FYI, Mary requested earlier today that the weigh-in be started early, so she can weigh in by Wednesday evening before going on a trip. I think I will wait til Friday morning, for I have indulged in a manner to put even The Chimp to shame. :D But no harm if the weigh-in is waiting here for me and other Friday "losers."

Forgive me Cooker and SB, for I have sinned...and judging from Cooker's post - I'm in good company.

Went to a Christkindle Market in town on Saturday and bought a huge carmel apple (shared with hubby) and some fudge - which I just finished off myself right now.:( It was SO good. It was made by a friend and his Mom who make the most incredible caramel, fudge, turtles and toffee.

I will try to be good the rest of this week - as the fudge is alread gone.

I was thinking such behavior -- eating ALL the fudge! -- might merit some punishment, Karlynn. But then I remembered the wise injunction:

"Let he who is without sin throw the first scone." :D ;) And I was overwhelmed at that point with the spirit of forgiveness. :p

I am SO unhappy!:( :(
We were considering stopping in Nashville to get a bite to eat with Cort this coming Thursday, but we've received word that THERE IS NO FOOD LEFT IN TENNESSEE!
Darn it, Cooker!
You DO go the extra mile to keep the rest of us on track!:D
I bet SuperBob is behind this!

Thank you for the early thread. I will post in the morning.:)

I think I left 1/2 a piece of fudge on the coffee table in the cabin. You can have it:p
