But Mary may "weigh in" here, and of course I defer to her. :D :)

Oh no - you know it's very dangerous when we start deferring to Mary. It's like deferring to the Marquis de Sade.

Oops. maybe I am too easy. :) Just noticed that your first weigh-in on new scale was not a morning weigh-in. Should be a morning to morning comparison. Did you weigh the next morning on the new scale? Could that be a starting point? If not, maybe just deduct 2 for a 4.5 loss so far and go from there.

The voice of authority? :p :p

Don't know if I am on the EC or not, Karlynn, but if I am reading this correctly, you weighed 159 on the new scale, and now 152.5 on the new scale -- so you should credit yourself with a 6.5 pound weight loss! :) Congratulations! But Mary may "weigh in" here, and of course I defer to her. :D :)

I agree, it sounds like 6.5 to me too!!!! Way to go!!!!!

I think I'll go with 4.5. It's probably more truthful.

Oh, and I shaved my legs too - that probably accounted for the additional .5 loss!!!!:D

Total Loss since July 30: 10 pounds (2 pounds a week, on average)

Challenge: Today, we'll have daughter and her family over and wife will make gobs of sour cream dip to go with chips. I can't eat one bite of that! I am a chipaholic. If I have only one bite, then later when company has gone, I will be in kitchen shoveling in all that's left and eating all of chips. I will pretend I have some, then secretly throw away the leftovers late tonight. :)

Excellent work Bob!! And COOKER!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!

It's 8:30 am Pacific and hubby is still sleeping (he needs it) so I'll have to weigh in later. Just wanted to chime in as today will be busy and I likely will have to just weigh in tomorrow.

I, too am a chipaholic. I have been known to wolf down an entire bag of Kettle chips at one sitting. Lately (since I do all the grocer shopping) if I just can't avoid buying a bag at the store (hey...I deserve it....blah blah blah...gotta have a few......type self-talk) I open them up at home, pour out a bowl full and toss the rest of them in the garbage! (or, of course, just buy one lunch -size bag of chips). For me, the key is to give in to the urge once in awhile, or it will bring me down.

I also am a rummaging after meals kind of gal as I clean up after the meal. Mmmm. one extra bite of macaroni.....scrape, scrape, scrape....yum. No more. I'm fixating on that garbage can or sink disposal. In it goes.

I am trying to serve myself up more vegetables and smaller pieces of meat.

When I go to a restaurant (which we do at least once a week, now, with the kids gone) Before I dig in, I kind of summarize what I will eat, and what I will leave and what I will bring home in a doggie bag. I generally try to bring home at least one third, if not one half.

Keep up the good work, everyone!!!!

Cooker often leaves us with a quote. I've been tossing this quote at my kids when they have a break-up with a relationship.....but, in fact, it works well for my relationship with food as I know I'm going to figure this whole thing out and find a way to live it without thinking too hard. Alan Parsons Project (way back there!)....

"Sooner or later, you're gonna be the last thing on my mind. "

Ok here it is! But I do not expect this to continue as I will be adding carbs slowly back in th my diet. Low carb works well for me but can only stand it for about two weeks.

Starting weight---------------233
Today's weight---------------220

Total Loss-------------------- 13

Well, it BETTER slow down, or this time next year, you will weigh minus-92 pounds! :D

Okay, okay, you took the doughnut challenge, and passed -- Well done! :D

Original Weight 255 (If I remember correctly).
Monday's Weight 253

That would have been better except for Sunday's pancakes & sausage for breakfast, ribs for lunch, steak & pumpkin pie for dinner. (actually invited out for three separate meals on Sunday). I don't plan on doing that again for a long time!

Our lunch today -(for the holiday)
Filet
fresh green beans
sweet potato fries.

The fries were very tasty and very healthy - lots of fiber in sweet potatoes.

2 lb of sweet potatoes skinned and cut into 1/2" sticks.

Put in bowl (or ziplock bag is easier) and add 1 tsp canola oil, 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice and 1 tsp chili seasoning. Mix until sticks are coated well.

Spread in one layer on a greased (Pam) cookie sheet and place in a 400 oven
Cook for 35 - 40 minutes, flipping 1/2 way through the time.

The Madame Marquis de Sade checking in . . .
I would calculate the difference from the first weigh-in on the new scale to this morning's weigh-in on the new scale.
Whatever weight difference there is should be resolved with next Monday morning's weigh-in.

And by the weigh (get it?:D ), I dreamed last night that I visited Bonnie and she was skinny as a RAIL! Like about 115 pounds of RAIL! I thought, boy, this diet is really working for Bonnie!:)

Now let's see if she read this . . . . !:p

Congrats to all of my fellow dieters who have posted today..:) We did GREAT..:D Week 3 will probably be a little harder...But, I went back to grocery store and bought more diet type foods...to stay on track.....I have noticed..I am less hungry?...Only the 3 P.M. slump...but I can drink water..seems to get me dinner time..We eat around 6 P.M...so not bad...I am very pleased with myself:p That 1 lb a week will get me down slowly..but better than not losing at all...I am walking a little more..karlynn, you are lucky to be so young that your muscles don't hurt..like it would..if I did a threadmill.....But whatever works for one..keep doing it.:D ......Me, I am counting calories..trying to keep daily at 1,500................Bonnie

Mary, We did it again.:p ..Mary/I have e-mailed one another many times at the SAME time.:D It's like we are lost-twins?.....I am glad you dreamt about me..I did weigh 114 when got married..Skinny as a rail.....but that all changed after first baby..:( .The next one..I was better..Watched my diet..)..it has been a yo-yo for me...but since my surgery..more weight ever. Losing both parents gave me more stress......Spending time with them in hospital, ect. Eating hospital food, ect..but I am back..:) and plan on losing at least 20 lbs.........Thank you for dreaming of me.:D Bonnie

Labor Day cookout was a battle! I ate three Nathan's hot dogs -- I was the grillmaster so kinda hard to refrain BUT I ate them plain, without buns. My granddaughter made some mac and cheese herself, so I had to eat some of that. I passed on my wife's sweet potato casserole because I know it was loaded with sugar. My son in law polishes that off anyway. And I ate some lima beans. Passed on the chocolate chip cookies.

Biggest thing so far -- I have had only 3 potato chips and no dip! But the company has gone and it's all here, crying out to me!   Help, guys, I need strength! I haven't done too badly but I could take in a month's calories with that dip and those wonderful chips! Ummmmmmmm! Oh dear, real test....

Bob..Get out of the house and take Sadie for a long walk.:D ......Forget the chips/dip....they will be there after you have lost your desired weight.....or maybe wait until this weekend to treat yourself..to some chips/dip.........Bonnie

Good idea. It's getting dark now, so Sadie and I will take ourselves down to the basement where I can ride the exercise bike and throw her the ball and maybe I can forget about the tons of food around this house.
