I just received this email from Lyn.

Hi, sooo no surgery today. MAYBE tomorrow, we won't know til late this afternoon, and if not tomorrow he might have to wait until the 19th. just uggg, I hope it is tomorrow, this isnt fair to put him thru, especially after having to really hear all the things that can go wrong ect from both anesthesia and surgery yesterday, since he is 19 and had to sign all the consents, so he really doesn't want to think about how everything that can go wrong for another 2 weeks,
so when w know anything , I'll let you all know

I know that no one likes it, but again, never question the reasons why. Accept it that is simply not the right time and that it will go on when it is the right time.

Although it's never easy having a surgery postponed I am with Ross on this one. My husbands's surgery was post poned twice but he went with the flow - better to have a well rested surgeon. Justin has been such a trooper. Keeping my fingers crossed that tomorrow is the right day! Best of luck.

Hoping for tomorrow

Hoping for tomorrow

Sorry to hear of the postponement!! Not what you wanted to hear! We will hope that it gets on tomorrow's schedule and that all goes smoothly from here on out!! Tell Justin to have a really good meal before tonight!

tHANKS, STILL HAVEN'T HEARD ABOUT TOMORROW. YES i KNOW WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT IT WILL HAPPEN, BUT IT IS TOUGH, ESPECIALLY SINCE HIS SURGERY 2 YEARS AGO WAS POSTPONED 3 TIMES(DIFFERENT HOSPITAL/SURGEON) ooops soory capps,he actually went to a different hospital/surgeon, because he lost faith in them, and he missed his Scout trip sailing the Florida Keys for week w/ Scouts w/ his dad because of the postponements and now if this gets pushed back too far, it will make him miss something else he really looked forward too. Then there is the whole he is only 19 and this is his 5th OHS and now instead of the general worries about surgery, after all the docs explaining things in great detail about 5th heart surgeries, might need to put on bypass thru groin or neck before they open his chest, because of his scarring issues and things like that, so he could sign the consents yesterday, I pray he doesn't have to wait too long.
just sigh. His last 3 surgeries have been not the normal, the one when he was 10 was we went for a cath and needed emergency surgery the next day. He asked me can't I just once schedual something and show up and have surgery, I hear that happens alot for others.
BUT I DO know in my brain what is meant to be will be
I appologize i am just whiney and tired

One more thing in common

One more thing in common

Lyn,
Tell Justin the we will have two things in common if the dr. goes the groin route with him. My first two surgery were that way- no problem. Of course, the other thing we have in common with DL is still a secret. ;) :D

Still, I am sorry you have to go through this.:(

We are with you both and everything will be fine!:)

Wow, and I feel sorry for myself sometimes!

Lyn, your kid has to be one of the bravest 19 years olds I've ever heard of. He is taking all of this much better than I would and I'm exactly 3 times older than him. God has blessed you with a child full of wisdom and courage.

The time will come. Pray and be patient.

Justin is one gritty young man- I think I know where he gets it from!;) Hang in there Lyn- I hope you can feel all our arms around you and we are always here to listen to you vent.

No surgery

No surgery

Hi Well first i am much better thanks,
Justin won't be having surgery tomorrow and will have it on the 19th. Turns out his surgeon is going out of town and the 19th is the first day he will be back, I really understand that, but it would have been nice if someone mentioned he would be away yesterday when we were there for 5 hours discusing everything and the fact he might get postponed today or this mornng when they said today was off , maybe tomorrow , if not then it will be the 19th. then we would of understood instead of wonderring why they would make him wait 2 more weeks.
Supposdely he is the high priority for surgery that day, we shall see, thanks again for all the kindness, lyn

Patience of Job

Lyn and Justin- you have it!:)

Well, this is not the best news but, at least, his surgeon will be well rested. I hope you guys are doing okay.

We feel your pain, Lyn. I hope these next two weeks will fly by for Justin and all of you in the knowledge that he will be in the good hands of a well-rested surgeon on the 19th.

*rolls eyes*

What a roller coaster ride for Justin and you, Lyn. Very very very sorry.

Wish I had a magic wand to make it all better, but I don't....... Heh, if I did, I might be in a better spot myself ... he he ;).

Seriously, though, please know thoughts/prayers continue for Justin and for you. Offer still stands ... if Justin wants to vent/talk/whatever, have him Email me....
