I posted the link to this round table discussiion (involving heart valve surgeons)in a different thread, but was rereading it today. I know we always say the surgeons prefer to operate way (even years) before most cardiologist recomend surgery. I thought it was pretty interesting reading from the surgeons WHY they want to operate earlier, how much more difficult the surgery CAN be and why long term damage can happen by waiting.
