I spent today clearing out the bedroom and cleaning . Put out the queen size bed and we had a hospital bed delivered. Hubby is sound asleep in his new bed. The insurance will take care of the cost of the bed ,except for $20 a month. That is nothing ... I hope it allows him to rest more comfortably.

He is having more and more pain . We talked to the doctors today and they upped the pain meds. They said that if it does not take care of the pain, they may have to put him in the hospital and find a pain med that would take care of the pain and adjust to proper dosage. We have to go to the hospital tomorrow and pick up a new script for the higher dosage meds. I pray that this will take care of the pain...at least for a while. I guess the lung cancer is just getting worse.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Praline,

I will pray that the new meds and the bed help to provide comfort. Hugs to you both.

Praline,

I really hope that the new bed proves to be much more comfortable and that the medical staff are soon able to work out an effective pain management solution. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers - Jeanne

Praline, I'm glad your husband got a bed that he can be more comfortable in,I hope you both were ale to get some restful sleep last night. I am sorry he is in such pain. I don't know if you have already, but maybe you can ask for a consult w/ a pain management doctor. I have chronic pain, because f back problems, and have been treated by a pain doctor for the past 5 years, it has made such a difference in my life. They really are great at figuring out what pain managemnet works best for different issues or what combinations to use.Like I said my pain is back/nerve pain, but I know they treat all kinds of pain issues. If a pain doctor hasn't been consulted and you need help findng one, I can get the names of local ones. Here is a link to some useful links to pain because of cancer http://www.painfoundation.org/page.asp?file=Links/Cancer.htm
I have been keeping you both in my prayers, Lyn

Praline....You Have My Prayers...

Sending up prayers for you, your family and your husband. I think the hospital bed will certainly help him feel somewhat better, as I sleep in one due to my illnesses, and it makes all the difference in the world. Harrybaby:eek:
