...heart valve and/or pacemaker?

Just curious....

Statistics for my current installations:
Pacemaker = almost 4 years (installed in January 2003)
Pig's Valve = almost 4 years (installed January 2003)

Statistics for my previous installations:
Pig's Valve ... almost 16 years (installed March 1987, replaced January 2003)
Pig's Valve ... almost 9.5 years (installed November 1977, replaced March 1987)

So, how about you?

How Long

How Long

I have had my Mosaic tissue valve for 2 years 1 month.

Cort, I can't get over that as a young guy you got 16 years out of a 1987 technology pigs valve, I am looking for 12 years and I am in my forties anything more I am considering a bonus. :)

My valve turns 9 tomorrow, actually. :) (1997)

I've had a pacemaker that long as well... well, it was implanted a few days later... I had it replaced in 2004, so I'm on my 2nd device.

Justin's origonal conduit didn't have a pulm valve and was done in a "new" way in 88 when he was 18 months old, in hopes it would grow with him and not need replaced often thru childhood. it lasted 16 years.

his current conduit is dacron w/ a bovine valve and is 20 months old

he had a pacemaker that lasted about 6 years and started malfunctioning so had to be removed, he has been pacer free for 21/2 years and doning well (knock on wood)
