I can't wait to see pics. Is Nonni worried about all us hot babes fighting for yo after we see you in the shirt? BTW all of sudden it is getting pretty cold up here, bring some warm clothes,

Congratulations Stretch on the beginning of a new era at vr.com. This is such an interesting happening. It will be so cool to follow the travels of THE SHIRT.

Thanks, Wise! It looks like Nan may be the first Honoree, as her surgery's is in NYC on the 6th, the day before Noni and I fly up there. We're hoping to deliver The Shirt to her to wear for the Ceremonial Disco Discharge. She should be out in plenty of time for her to return it to me before I leave Beth Israel.

DavidFortune's next on the list, although with his surgery on the 12th it might be a tight squeeze.

Of course I've been pondering all these things in great detail, rather than taking care of the seemingly infinite number of tasks I really NEED to be dealing with before next Thursday. I'm now of the opinion that while a "day of discharge photo" will always be ideal, a day or two post-discharge would be an acceptable window during which one could reasonably be photographed wearing The Shirt.

Wait... I used the word "reasonably" while referring to The Shirt. I don't think that's allowed is it?

ps- Believe me, Lynn... Having lived with me nearly 10 years, Noni's doubtless confident that there's no one else around who would put up with me! I swear the woman has the patience of Job...

I wonder if Noni is secretly independently wealthy like I am. :) I tell Glenn that I have a Swiss bank account filled with money I've collected from women who pay me to keep him off the streets.

I think the Traveling Shirt is going to be a great way to give new members a little needed levity from the nerves we all get when approaching surgery. Even tho' not all will be able to wear it, due to time or geography, it's a sign that the surgery is a positive thing and a benefit to their lives.

One size fits all?

One size fits all?

Too bad this idea didn't get going earlier...which brings me to a question...is this a "one size fits all"?:D Wearing the shirt would have been an honor.

Stretch,

Just seeing this thread. Don't know how I missed it. I will recieve the 1st Runner-Up shirt from Bob in case your procrastinator genes kick in again and you decide to hang around Beth Israel just to chat up pretty nurses:cool: .

Safe travels tomorrow and Monday!!

David

The second shirt began its odyssey on Tuesday, at a New Jersey Post Office, and is currently negotiating the postal system's transfer processes to The Great State of Texas to begin its role in the lives of new valve recipients. And it's a doozy. In this quiet way, a string of photo-documented fashion tragedies begins, which will unfold with untold worldwide implications...

Another genuine, pretested, size Large, silk, Hawaiian-style Valve Recovery shirt awaits the call to become an Aloha Shirt. It's a man's shirt, but will look equally revolting on a woman (perhaps moreso, as a woman should know better). Who is next to join Shirt Guild?

Best wishes,
