Well now its going to be my turn to wait patiently while my wife has a procedure...She's having a heart cath in the morning. I don't know why I'm feeling a nervous wreck. With her having some chest pains and nothing showing with the testing they've done so far, I don't know if I'm hoping they do or don't find something. She has SVT's and MVP....She's had a Stress test, chest xray and CT scan to rule out aortic dissection...It's easier being the patient.

I"ll put her in my prayers, Johnny.
My best friend (age 51) had one ten days ago, and they ended up putting three stents in. She had two, 80% blockages, and one 60%. And they didn't think she had any heart issues at all until something showed up on a stress test.

Sending prayers and positive thoughts to you an your wife. Hope all goes well and you get some answers to put your mind at ease.

Thank you ladies....I know it's routine. She's having it done at one of the best hospitals in St.Louis. Big Barnes as her Cardiologist refers to it. I had my surgery at another one of their hospitals...I'll be posting tomorrow when it's done.

Johnny and Catwoman, I truly pray that both your spouses come out without any problems! God Bless you both!

Johnny.. just checking in to see how your wife made out with her Cath..
Hope all checked out just fine!

Hope to hear from you soon that all went well- sending prayers and best wishes.

Well? Hope all went well! Where is St. Louis did you have your surgery and what Dr. I have also heard Barnes is great! Hope to hear everything went well!

Thanks everyone ! Sorry I'm posting so late.
All went well...Cath was great And they found no problems. She got a little sick after due to dehydration. We got home about 4:00 pm. Barnes is one the best. It's also teaching hospital affilliated with Washington University. The Cardiologists name is Dr. Craig Reiss. He's still trying to talk her into the Ablation procedure for SVT's. Thanks to all for your concern. Looks like I'll remIn the one with the scars for now. Thank God!

Thank goodness for the good report. Do they know what the chest pain was from, then?
Take good care of her and enjoy the weekend!

Thanks....We still don't know whats causing the pains . But We are almost assured from all the testing that its not heart related.

Does she have any upper GI issues,
such as a weak esophageal sphincter
or other cause of Acid Reflux being
pushed up into her esophagus?

It is difficult to impossible to differentiate between the multiple possible causes of Chest Pain.

Contributors to GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) include:

Alcohol, Caffeine (coffee, tea, sodas, chocolate), Nicotine, Perpermint, clothes too tight around the waist, and of course, STRESS.

Sleeping on the LEFT side and raising the head of your bed by 6 to 8 inches helps to reduce / eliminate nighttime reflux.

Glad to hear Johnny that it wasn't her heart:)
Hope she can find the source of her discomfort
