Woo hoo!!! It'll be great to see you again, Marsha!

BTW, I chose Thursday night for the gathering, since I've no idea how late I'll arrive in Dallas Wednesday night.

And, btw, we'll need a bigger restaurant ... and something a bit easier to access from a main road way ... since I'm hoping to get a number of people together ... including some car buddies ;).

We want to meet you also!

We want to meet you also!

Hopefully Adam and I will get to participate this year. We have met Janet and Marsha, and they both spoke of meeting with you before. I think it is incredibly neat to meet the people behind the masks (so to speak). I hope the meeting will be somewhat central to the metroplex. I look forward to hearing more about it.

Where was I?! Janet doesn't usually leave me out of these things... ;)

Cort, you already know I'll be there! Can't wait. :D

count me in... just got my school schedule which is better then I imagined..

so i'm able to plan my vacation to Dallas.. was heading that way to begin with.. I wasn't firm but was coming sometime in sept/oct.. looks like i'll flying in wednesday oct 11th and flying home mon/tues the 16th or 17th.. which means I'll be around for the "reunion"

I kinda like Richardson area myself.. know it better then other parts.. I agree, plenty of great restaurants up 75N towards Plano.. and easy access.. i'll be staying with a friend in The Colony, but hanging out in Richardson/Garland/Plano and my former employer Oxychem across from the Galleria..

so i'll be around.. and looking forward to meeting everyone.. haven't met anyone from vr yet.. first for everything is my motto..

You know, there are those of us who believe if you don't go south of Dallas, you're not really in Texas! You're really still in Oklahoma! :D Since that is a school night, and Dallas is at least 5 hours away from me, I can't be there. It sounds really fun though!

*chuckles slyly*

You didn't mention if those were good speakings or bad speakings of meeting with me ;). He he he.... ;)

Seriously, yes, that would be wonderful for you both to join us!

I'm just south of Branson,Mo and north of Little Rock about 3 31/2 hours. Let me know if you pass this way.

Welp, I will be going through Little Rock AR, as I noted. Would you be willing to drive to the Little Rock area to meet up? I know a few other people in that area with whom I'd be meeting, too ... let me know :).

Tommy ... keep watchin' this thread ;).

And, Marsha ... I glanced at the map ... that might not be a bad idea. HOWEVER (you knew that was coming, didn't ya?), is there anything east of Dallas ... towards Terrell, in particular? A buddy of mine lives out that way and they may not be able to join us for dinner, but wanted to know if I could stop by before or after dinner.....

Aye ... I'm sorry you won't be able to join us. I do try to get to as many places as I possibly can, and unfortunately, Dallas is as far south as I'm going to have time for ... I'm sorry :(.

Hey Cort, Terrell Tx eh?? if you don't mind my two cents - ex's sister's family used to live there so we frequented Terrell quite a bit - I have some ideas for you.. it's as country as country can get, at least it was in 99-2001.. they lived out in the woods, you could hear and sometimes see every wild animal at nite... but I liked it regardless of that little issue

Terrell is about 45 minutes from Garland/Richardson area.. now i'm going from 635 to 80 and taking 80 straight into Terrell.. that's about 30 miles.. once in Terrell.. if you want a nice steakhouse, Coal Mountain is on E. Moore Ave which is also 80 (main strip in "downtown Terrell")... if you like great hole-in-the-walls as much as I do, then there is a catfish shack on the other side of town off of FM429 or FM2278.. it's a all you can eat fried catfish shack, buffet style with all the fixins.. (hush puppies, fries, corn, salad, etc..) for about $10... it was on our way to their house, Bubba and I used to stop there either coming or going... if you're looking for little eateries/chain restaurants, then Tanger Outlet Mall would be your best bet.. there's a bunch all around it. if you just want to chill and chat.. I would recommend Lake Tawakoni.. but that's a little bit further out but still in Terrell..

wow, this just brought back a bunch of memories.. definatley have to find a good catfish place in Dallas while i'm there, among other things - well the emails are flying, cell phones ringing.. my schedule is getting filled quickly - can't believe it's been 3 years since i've been back... booked my flight yesterday, flying in Wed the 11th, flying back Tuesday the 17th... reserved my car and hotel (staying in Richardson first half of trip as that'll be my central location, then up to The Colony and Flower Mound during the weekend with other friends)... i'm keeping Thursday wide open until I hear more of a plan from ya'll, but that still leaves me 4 1/2 days to play. :)

looking forward to meeting everyone!

well, time to get back to work.. time to collect some money.. have a great day everyone!

Chris

Cort & Chris:

How about compromising and meeting on the east side of Dallas (on Interstate 30)? That's not too far from Terrell and yet accessible enough for most people in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Okay, that's weird. I posted a reply and it didn't show up... If it comes through twice, sorry.

That depends on his work schedule. We won't know that until closer to the date. We didn't even know his August schedule until yesterday! By then he'll be done with his internship, so his schedule should be more stable then. However, he will still be low man on the totem pole. I'm sure he'll come if he can.

doesn't matter to me.. I was just hightlighting some Terrell spots for him.. i'm fine with 30.. (is that before or after 80 on 635? I forget) i'll be staying on 75 at the holiday inn off of Cambell and 75 wed-fri as it's a central location for my other visits that week as well.. whatever works for all is fine with me.. just not thrilled about driving downtown Dallas or Fort Worth..

I believe your husband was in nursing school -- has he graduated?
Yes he has graduated. He graduated May 12th and started working at Methodist Hospital downtown in June. It's so great to finally have him working, but his schedule is completely crazy.

I work not far from where you will be staying. If you want, I could pick you up and we could ride together.

that would be great.. if i'm familar with the location, i have no problem getting there.. if not, you would be a God send.. especially dealing with that new high five.. when I left in 03 they were just starting...I went on line and saw it.. it's huge!!!!

I thought you either lived or worked in Richardson/Plano.. I used to work in Plano off of 75 and Alma, my ex BF used to work at UTD in the central energy plant before being promoted to Fort Worth. we lived off of 635 and Jupiter. I chose that hotel in Richardson, besides being centrally located, it was also relatively affordable, yet still treating myself to a nice stay.. I didn't want a motel 6, but couldn't afford the Crown or Hilton.. I plan on having fun and spoiling myself a bit while on vacation.

guess I should get back to work, leaving at 2 to registar for my public speaking class.. seeing that i'm a shy person (unless I know ya) i'm not looking forward to this class..

Chris
