P.J.,
I know that it has to be hard watching him in so much pain!! I'll keep you all my prayers and I hope that the Doctors can ease his pain.:D I hope your husband, Hank, has a speedy recovery...although, it sure sounds like he may not be on his feet for a while.
God bless,
Deana

Prayers for both of you

Prayers for both of you

PJ so sorry to hear of your husbands situation. i will continue to pray for him and you as well. I hope this isn't putting you over the edge stress wise. Sometimes it is so hard to watch those you love suffer. Hang in there and know you are both loved and prayed for.

Randy

P.J. - some how I missed your original post. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's accident. It does sound very painful. He will be in my prayers for a quick, successful recovery. That must have been one heckofa fall he took.

ouch! those rollerblades can be nasty things! i hope your husband is doing better. I once was rollerblading myself and pushing one of my sons along ahead of my in his little red step-2 car ... i did this a thousand-million times without incident ... well, we had just moved and i decided to go rollerblading around my new neighborhood and went down a hill in that was much steeper than it appeared ... before i knew it i was going way to fast to even be able to control my speed using the brake. i was scared to death ... i pushed the baby into a neighbor's yard (his little car tipped) and I fell to stop myself... tumbled and ate pavement for a good 10 feet. I was sure i had killed my baby ... i was all bloody and screaming and crying as i crawled back up to him and HE WAS FINE! i don't know how, but all he had was a teensy little grass-scrape on his knee. I was bleeding everywhere, all surface wounds, no major injuries -- again, I don't know how. needless to say, i haven't ever done that again!! i am sure i made a fiiiiiine impression on my new neighbors & my husband was SOOO mad at me!!!
hank, i hope you are feeling better and recovering well. best wishes to you...

That still hurts just reading about it all...

wishing you all the best in the recovery ahead.

Gee Hank, Some people will do anything to upstage their wives!!! Sorry to hear about your accident. I gotta tell you, I'd rather have another Sternotomy than a Broken Pelvis...Ouch! Hopefully you'll be able to at least get comfortable soon and heal up quick. Yeah, your Valver buddy's have to be concerned for him...I doubt there is a "I fell off my Roller Blades and broke my damn pelvis and had to have an operation" bulletin board. It's ok if he borrows yours P.J. ......Lol :D

Andrew's Mom, that sounds horrific. You obviously did the right thing in bailing, though!

JohnnyV, thanks for the forum loan...hard to believe there's no broke-my-GD-pelvis forum. I'll google that when I have more time!

All day yesterday and still this morning the main concern is bowel movement. There has been none to speak of and he is in tremendous pain from trapped gas. They've tried a suppository, an enema, stool softeners, fiber pills, and tums. This morning he's had coffee (to stimulate digestion on the front end) and Colace. He's been completely off the dilaudid for 24 hours and has taken only 2 minimal doses of (tylenol-free) Vicaden since, so hopefully pain-relievers aren't much of a factor anymore???

On the PT front all goes very well. He's doing a great job of getting himself in and out of bed and walking short distances. He's also learned the step-climbing skills he needs to go home.

Thanks for all your comisseration and encouragement. This too shall pass... ...NOW would be good!

Come On PooP!

hey, those poop cheers always seem to help the little ones ... so it's worth a try, huh?

Hope today brings more improvement for your husband, especially on the digestion/bm front. Sounds like he's doing ok, considering the injuries.

good thoughts & prayers continue
