Out of curiosity and worry, how long after a cath, are you still sore, limping and uncomfortable sitting?? This is Matt's first adult procedure. As a baby, toddler and child, he didn't have any of the above. Got up after 6 hrs and was fine.

Thanks!

I don't really recall having much of an issue sitting. I had a slight limp for about two days, and the area was sore for several days (can't exactly remember). One thing I do remember is that I didn't really have much bruising for the first day or two, then suddenly, I had this huge purple-yellow splotch a couple inches away from the actual puncture wound. It worried me at the time, but I was told it was normal and eventually it went away.

Jeanne,
If it s bothering Matt after 4 or 5 days, I would give his doctor a call
to let him know what's going on. A young adult should not even notice
it after 7 days. Wish him good luck from me.:)

After Katie's last cath, Jeanne, she was more sore from that than the surgery. This was right before her valve repair in '04. She was hobbling around like a little old man for weeks. The worst part was that they made 14 or 15 attempts to gain access (based on the number of scabs down there) and never did. They ended up going through her neck. I tried to tell them that everything major was occluded down there, but did they listen? Noooooooooo, what do I possibly know? I'm just a mom....................sigh! Hope Matt is feeling better soon. Many hugs and still lots of prayers. J.

I've had a few caths and no pain really. Bruising in the groin, but really nothing else. I was out walking but would take it easy because I just had a proceedure. I never use any of the pain meds they perscribe after that's how insignificant the pain was.
