Hello Everyone,
I don't have a heart problem but my son Stuart does and while browsing the web I found this and thought it might be of interest to some of you out there.

We live in Scotland and Stuart care here has been excellant, also I'm going to ask them if its possible for this procedure for a mitral valve.

Keep well everyone

Hi Lesley,

Thank you for posting the article. Upon reading it...I did find some information that I beleive may be false regarding animal and human valves.

"Professor Dreyfus said one of the great advantages of using the patient's own tissue is that there is no need to treat for rejection as one would need to do with an animal or a human valve substitute.

Since there is no risk of rejection, the patient does not need to take immunosuppressant drugs"

Wonder if this operation could be carried out in an individual that previously had valve replacement?

Thanks again
