I met my goal of going snowboarding by six months
I went the 6th of January and the 26th of February. My surgery was the 28th of July. Everything went great and I did as good or better than I did last year before the surgery. The altitude was no problem all the way up to 9,000 ft.! I hope that this gives hope to some of you that have had your surgery recently, or are to have it soon.

P.S. I DO wear my helmet!

Good for you! Took me almost 5 years to get back on my skis. No physcial limitations. Had fear of others slamming in to me Few months back....went up to 14,500 with no issues. Key is proper hydration! Water, lots of it. Had no desire for alcohol, which is a rare, lol. Sure it's the altitude!


Enjoy your new lease on life to the fullest! Now if I could just get up the nerve to get on a board!

Did you wear a helmet pre-op?
I'm a skier that tried snow boarding for the 1st time last month; I needed the helmet on my bottom!
