Hi Everyone!
I have been feeling better lately but I must tell you all that boy do those sneezes ever hurt...lol!!!!! I have been able to hold back alot of my sneezes the past couple of weeks. My chest still has discomfort, but not as bad as it was. So when I had to sneeze I thought it wouldn't be that bad since I am healing. Boy, was I wrong. That sneeze hurt like the dickens!!!!!
I'm sure you all have experienced the joy of sneezing...lol!!!!
Well, everyone take care!

YES!!! I remember the feeling well, and certainly not with fondness. For quite awhile after my surgery I had a sig file for all my emails to friends that simply said "Achoo! OW! Achoo! OW!" They all thought it was pretty funny, but there's no way they could ever understand that feeling.

As of this december it will be two years since my surgery. I still have to hold my chest at the top when I sneeze. A pillow works just as well..... martha

Stop it, all of you right now.
I have a cold (I think) and all I do is sneeze and cough. I feel like I just had surgery all over again!

Aw. Poor Rossy. :( I hope you get to feeling better VERY soon. I'll add an extra prayer for you.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well because of your cold. I hope you start to feel better soon. I can imagine how awful the sneezing and coughing must be. Take care of yourself!

I have allergies and they kicked in about 4 weeks after surgery and the farmers all around me are just thrashing beans. It sure does hurt to sneeze. Anybody take any allergy pills?? I would be interested in what kind anybodies is taking. I was taking Allerga D but I guess it is not good on us heart patients.

Faye,

Have you tried plain Allegra? The D in AllegraD is a decongestant, that is the problem for cardiac patients. I had a fungal infection in my sinuses about 3 months after my surgery and had to take antihistamines without decongestants. Ask your Doc about something like Allegra.

Everybody,

Don't pick on Ross. I know without a doubt that sneezing anytime is a very painful experience. I would be hard pressed to believe it ever gets better.

Go ahead and pick on me. That's why I'm here. It is my life force.

I've taken Allegra and it didn't seem to do anything for me.
Of course, Claritin works but insurance won't pay for it. arrgg.
Flonase works to an extent, but has it's drawbacks as well.

Ross,
What is the deal? Insurance won't pay for Claritin? Why? What is this antihistamine discremination?

If I were a child (Hmm, maybe I am) under 12 years old, they will pay for Claritin Syrup! You know how insurance companies are. They want you to pay them a premo price for coverage, but they don't want to pay for drugs that I and they consider over priced. ;)

Ross,

I see that your insurance company has the same disease that mine does. STUPIDITY!!!! My insurance will pay for Viagra but not birth control pills. I guess your insurance thinks that only children have allergies or sinus problems.

Claritin
tablets
10MG $83.55 QTY30

Allegra
tablets
180MG $66.41 QTY30

And you know they get them cheaper then that too!

Creed,
What really worked for me--every time--was to forcefully but a finger across my upper lip when I felt a sneeze building. Stopped 'em cold. At 4 months out, I almost like sneezing (allergies) because it doesn't hurt anymore!

Ross Y because I at on time had to rely soley on medicare and they don't pay for most prescriptions,I searched out the Canadian Drug stores and was amazed at the difference in price. For instance:
Claritin Tabs..10mgs..qty 30 $31.00
Allegra tabs 60mg(not 180) qty 30 $20.37
and these are available to anyone on line but you do need a prescription from your Dr.and faxed to them. They're even bus loads of people on Medicare going to Canada, dropping off the prescription, going to lunch and touring and picking up the drugs in the afternoon and coming back to the states, and the Customs agents do not stop them any more, something about a recent ruling in Wash.
