Last night while I was lying in bed my heart did a short burst of fast heart beats for a few seconds then back to normal. I did not feel different and was OK immediately afterwards. This also happened a few month ago. Has anyone else had this?

Hi Martin this happens to me several times a day, exactly like you describe. I ignore it as I feel totally fine.
Thanks ski girl. I have had a few ectopic/erratic heart beats since surgery but they seemed to have calmed down over the past few years. I was wondering whether this was triggered by pushing to hard. I have a big hill race in 10 days time and yesterday I pushed really hard up a steep hill for about 10 minutes.

It's happened to be periodically over my almost 8 post-op years. I can't attribute it to anything specific, but it does seem to happen when I'm very tired.
