Hello All,

I am now 9 weeks post-op and doing well.

I wonder what experiences you have had with sun exposure after surgery.

I want to go swimming and lounge the pool this weekend, question is should I do it with a shirt on and can I "tan" with the right sun block?

Any thoughts are appreciated

Regards,

Cory

Cory,

Just make sure you are not on any new meds that may be affected by the sun.

If not, be sure and use a VERY strong sunblock on your scar as it will burn very easily.

I think med wise I am ok as I am on the same Atenlol, zocor & Diovan daily.

I think these are all fine

Justin had his surgery in May and has been to the Ocean a few times since he was cleared at the 6 week check up. Some people like to wear a Tshirt the first year when they are in the sun, but Justin just puts alot of sun screen on the scar area and has done fine. Lyn www.caringbridge.org/nj/justinw
