I had my valve replacement surgery 1/9/09, suffered a stroke 2 days later, stayed in ICU for 2 weeks and in hospital 3 weeks then a rehab for 2 weeks to learn to walk again and use my left arm. Today I feel wonderful, still have some minor issues but I truly feel like a new person. It changed me, I think differently about so many things and realize how important relationships are instead of "stuff". I cleaned out a lot of my "stuff" (material things) and concentrate more on family and friends. I love my new life and owe it all to the wonderful people at Winthrop Hospital, Mineola, New York and my surgeon John Goncalves and cardiologist Mark Saporita. Arden, alive, happy and loving life
