I had my final pre-surgery meeting with my doctor yesterday, and he said he's finally decided on a moo-cow valve. (I'm sure that's the scientific term.)

-----------------------

Cow: OK, again. Who rules?
Bull: [Sigh] Cows rule.
Cow: And why do cows rule?
Bull: Because they are the farm masters.
Cow: And do you think they're pretty?
Bull: Yes
Cow: Yes, what?
Bull: Yes I think that cows are pretty.
Cow: Do you want to marry a cow?
Bull: Look, can I just get the ball back?
Cow: Oh. This ball?
[Off camera she kicks it.]
Bull: Woah. OK, she's on our team.

Good Luck with your surgery, you are going to be fine. Maybe you'll dream of cows during recovery....;):D

M00-cow-valve is correct.
I've seen reports of lasting 17 to 20 years...and more.

That would make me very-very happy.

I think it was Ross that said, to paraphrase , Once you've had one(operation of the heart) you don't want another.

3 months 3 weeks and I am playing golf again. Poorly, but again.

;)

Too bad, because the clinical trials for unicorn valves are even more promising than On-X. No anticoagulation needed because it's tissue but the horn material lasts forever, like the mechanicals...
