I'm a fairly new runner, started running at age 63 two years ago, and after a recent 5k spotted my cardiologist at the finish line. He knew that I was physically more active after surgery than before but he was still surprised and pleased to see me there. Of course he was much faster than I was, but still....

Nice going! I wish I could go back to running even 5K's. I ran for over 30 years, but now my knees just won't take it. If I run one day, I'm in pain for 2 or 3 days after - bad enough that I don't want to walk much or do stairs. So, enjoy it - you've earned it.

My cardio has the build of a twig - tall and thin, but I know he isn't a runner. He is also about 20 years younger than I (I'm almost 67), so he could run if he wanted.
