Although I've known about my BAV for more than 20 years, until recently I was just watching and waiting. I recently had AVR. When you have such a proceedure during graduation season, the family drums beat pretty fast and all of my cousins are now familiar with my medical history.
My Mom followed up with her brother and found out that he had an AVR about 5+ years ago due to a "malformation." Due to family dynamics, my Mom doesn't think my cousins are aware of the nature of their Dad's procedure.
Any suggestions for information that would help them understand what they need to communicate with their own doctors? Thanks. -- Suzanne
