On Wednesday I was quite sick, I think it was a cream cake which did it, I ended up at the 'out of hours' GP clinic at our hospital vomiting copiously, this was 8pm and I had taken my warfarin at 6pm so I guess I lost that. I then had nothing else to eat until next day when I nibbled, I then saw my own doctor later in the afternoon.

My range is 3.0 - 4.0 and on the Tuesday I was tested and it was 3.3 which is fine.

The warfarin clinic gave me my recall for four weeks (but obviously didn't expect me to be ill) but my GP has told me to have a test again next week (after two weeks instead of four), which seems about right to me.

I guess what I am asking is if I 'lost my lunch, then didn't eat in the evening and also 'lost' my normal dose, will that about even out?

If you are dehydrated from being sick your INR will go higher. Be sure to keep hydrated!

Even feeling as awful as I was at the time I had to laugh when the GP spoke to a cardiologist on the telephone and said "To be honest she looks lousy, she is over the other side of the room so she she can't hit me for saying that!". :)

If you are so close to the edge that vomiting one dose causes a major problem then you are in trouble.

Just think of it as forgetting a dose and live with it.

No serious harm is likely to result from a short-term event. If it was a high risk there wouldn't be enough people on this forum to make it interesting.
