It's been quite awhile since I have posted anything. I believe the last time I posted I let everyone know that my oldest sister was diagnosed with lung cancer. That was in the summer of 2007. Wow how things can change in the blink of an eye as I have seen by going through the posts here at VR.com. I was sorry to see the passing of some of our members. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends. Joyce (my sister) had her right lung removed. She is doing fine with one lung. They later found mets to her brain which were caught very very early and they were able to use the gama knife (radiation surgery) to obliterate the mets. They were so small that she wasn't having any symptoms of any kind. A few months ago they found mets to her one kidney. Again they are saying that they found it very early and she is going through treatment right now for it. Hopefully her next scan will show the treatments are working. She is doing very well with all of this. She doesn't feel sick at all. No symptoms of any sort. They usually scan her every three to four months. Please keep her in your prayers. Her faith is very strong and she knows that whatever happens is exactly what God has planned to have happen to her.
Our two dogs both passed in 2008. One died of old age at the ripe old age of 15 1/2 and the other one died of cancer, he was almost 12. The one that died of cancer had his leg removed last spring and he had about six good months after that but the cancer came back and spread all throughout his body. We miss them very much. We had the cremated and buried them both under the same tree in our backyard. Towards the end of 2008 we adopted a yorkie at our local spca. He is 1 1/2 years old. His name is Max. He is just so darned cute. The girls just adore him.
Speaking of the girls, they are just growing up so fast. Kristen is ten and Faith just turned seven.
As for me, well things are very busy. I work part-time at a preschool working with kids from 2 yrs to 5 yrs old. I just love it. It is a christian based preschool. With my girls growing up so fast I feel like I am running everywhere all of the time because of the activities they do. I just want to make sure that they don't do too much and get stressed out. I try to monitor that pretty closely. They are both great little dancers and my youngest is a very good swimmer and has won several ribbons in some competitions. They both love singing in our church's youth choir. It seems the older they get the busier I get.
Well, I have gone on here quite a bit. I just wanted to stop back in and say hi and check to see how everyone was doing.
As always I wish everyone here the very best and I will try to keep checking back more often.
Love,
Gail (aka Creed)
