Travler

Hi all,
This is Maurine (Travler's) wife again. We want to thank you again for your prayers and the encouragement We feel like we have a great big cheering squad across the world!

John has walked some, napped a lot, had all the tubes out, has eaten some and all in all is making wonderful progress. If he continues this well, he'll be able to go home tomorrow or, most likely, the next day (Monday).

Yes, I've been napping too. Didn't expect I would be so tired too. Having our son here to help has been great -- since he just graduated from paramedic school last week, he is asking questions of the staff that totally surprises them but they answer him readily. A nice benefit for him.

Some of you asked where the surgery was done, it was at Emory University hospital in Atlanta. We will post again soon. Bless each of you.

Maurine,

Thanks for updating us about Traveler's progress. It sounds like he is doing very well and is on his way to a normal, uneventful recovery. The worst part is over, and in hindsight, it really wasn't as bad as you or he expected, was it?

Once he's home, he'll be getting a little stronger and a little healthier each day. The discomfort will fade and the stamina will increase, if he does his excersises. Make sure he does his walking every day.

Isn't it wonderful that you have many extra years to spend together thanks to the miricle of modern science?

Take care and keep posting.

Hi Maurine,

Thanks for posting about Traveler. Sounds like his recovery is going well. Tell him CONGRATULATIONS for getting over the mountain. When he gets home it will be WALK! WALK! WALK! BREATHE! BREATHE! BREATHE! SLEEP! SLEEP! SLEEP! He will get stronger and stronger everyday! Here's hoping for him to have a speedy recovery. Take care and God Bless!

Hi Maurine and Travler-

Things are going so well. That's just wonderful. It'll be fantastic to get home. Would you believe that you could go home so soon from this kind of surgery?
