Rhythm: sinus bradycardia
Heart rate: 50

RV int. dimension: 2.6
Aortic root diameter: 3.8
IVS thickness -(ed): 1.2
Left atrial dimension: 4.2
LV dimension (D): 5.1
LVOT: 1.9
LVPW thickness -(ed): 1.1
FS: greater than 25%
LV Dimension (S): 3.3
EF: 55-60%

Findings:

1. Left vetricle - borderline concentric LVH with ejection fraction 50-55%. There is elevated E/E. prime at 20.9

2. Left atrium - a large left atrium-LA volume 37 ML/meter squared

3. Right ventricle - ventricle is normal in size with normal systolic function

4. Right atrium - cup normal right atrium

5. Aortic root - minimal enlargement at 3.8 cm

6. Mitral valve - mild thickening with associated moderate to moderately severe mitral regurgitation.

7. Aortic valve - mild thickening with 3 cusps with adequate cusp separation. There is associated moderate to moderately severe aortic insufficiency.

8. Tricuspid valve - mile thickening with associated moderate tricuspid regurgitation. PA systolic pressure 40-45 mm mercury.

9. Pulmonic valve - minimal thickening with associated trivial pulmonic insufficency

10. Pericardium - thickness is normal

11. Shunts - no evidence

12. Subcostal view - IVC is normal in size with normal respiratory variation.

13. Suprasternal notch view - no aortic dilation except minimal proximal aortic root.

Conclusions:

1. Borderline LVH with ejection fraction 50-55%

2. Aortic valve sclerosis with moderate to moderately severe aortic insufficiency

3. Moderate to moderately severe mitral regurgitation

4. Moderate tricuspid regurgitation

5. Mile to moderate pulmonary hypertension

6. Trivial pulmonic insufficiency #7 dilated left atrium.

Hi Sheryl,

Not being a physician, I can't comment except that the conclusions from the echo point in the direction of a discussion with your cardiologist about these findings. Hopefully you have an appt. soon with him/her to discuss this. All the very best!
