I went in at 8am for a cleaning. I was fine until around 4 this afternoon and have been bleeding since. In the far upper back of the mouth behind the last molar. Any hints on how to get this to stop?
Hmmm I just sneezed. This may have been what started this at 4.

Do you know what your INR is right now? You shouldn't be bleeding. Take a piece of gauze and hold it in place for a few minutes or bite down on it if that will work. If that doesn't work, try a tea bag soaked in water, for a while. Unless your dentist messed up badly, it will stop.

I did the tea then 1/2 hour of gauze and it has stopped for now. There was a good scrape in that area with a slip of the sonic cleaner.....I think the sneezes dislodged the clot later on.
I am on Plavix so I react to reclotting a bit different than Coumadin patients do.

My personal opinion of Plavix is that it is worse then Coumadin when it comes to bleeding, but proving it is another story.
