Family History

Hi Folk

I am dabbling in family history and have discovered a relative who went through Eliis Island, ( found the arrival etc on the site )
also found the mention of the family in the 1930 US Census.

I am wondering now how their life progressed in the USA but am unfamiliar were to look for records etc.

I subscribe to Ancestry but only the UK Site so my question is can any one give me a few pointers on tracing family in the USA

They appear to have stayed in New York is it possible to

Look up other Census returns

Look up Birth Death Marriages and Baptisms,

Old Telephone Directories

any help appreciated,

Jan, it is my understanding that the Mormon church has the most complete records and most advanced systems to proceed with
