Had ON-X Valve I'm 24 female it's been 1 month and 21 days on my surgery since i've been back home i've felt dizziness and light headed for maybe 5 times like if I'm going to pass out but i don't , today i've felt the same but what scared me that i've had doubled vision and feeling numbness in my tongue, the doubled vision lasted for maybe 30 mins but the numbness in my tongue I'm still feeling and didn't went away yet !!
what is the causes of all these dizziness it started to scar me, I've discuss it with my doctor her he told me that the dizziness could be the result of my Irregular heart beats but that didn't made since to me after what i've experienced today..
anyone felt the same ?
knows what could be the causes ?
and it is something to be scared of ?

P.S : had my surgery in cleveland clinic and now I'm back to my home country Kuwait

Hi extraordinary,

So sorry to hear that you have been having these issues. I am still on the other side, awaiting my op, but just wanted t lend support and send a hug.

I'm sure that the more experienced members will have some ideas about the possible cause.

Which doctor did you speak to, was it your heart specialist ?

Hi extraordinary - are you taking beta blockers ? Several members of the forum have experienced dizziness post op, including myself, and it would seem to be related to beta blockers. I've also been getting visual problems, including double vision, migraine auras without headache and silver 'floaters' since OHS last January - those can be due to beta blockers but I'm no longer on beta blockers and still get them so I reckon they are due to being on the heart lung machine during open heart surgery (but will mention it to my cardioogist when I next see him). I found an article about neurological problems, including visual disturbances, post open heart surgery: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/08/090813142455.htm You could go back to your doctor and get checked though.
