Just wanted to report that I cut my thumb with a corkscrew while opening a bottle of wine last evening.

Got some blood on the wine glass.

It was a 2008 Shiraz - very good.

Don't think it affected my INR. ;)

Shiraz...great stuff! Was it Australian? California?

Australian. I've gotten hooked on it over the last year or so. My consistency of diet includes a couple of glasses of wine with dinner most evenings. If I skip it I'm afraid I will throw my INR out of range...;)

try kiwi

try kiwi

.
suggest you give kiwi wine a try next time, it is better and also these days nearly all our wine comes with a screw cap. i guess that makes some people shudder, but it does ensure pefect wine everytime without cork tainting.

Have you bled out yet?

My "favorite" thing to cut myself on is my Pampered Chef Mandoline slicer. The little gadget to keep this from happening is too awkward to use, so I nick my thumb at least every 3rd or 4th time I use it. However, a corkscrew injury might be more fun. Think I'll try it! Of course, I generally prefer my wine from a classy box!
