Well, I'm making progress... got the nine stitches out of my wrist and (approx.) 30 staples removed from the elbow area. I now have a brand-new thermoplastic splint. I start some passive PT on Thursday - still a fair amount of swelling that I suspect will go down quickly now that I'm not heavily Ace-bandaged. It felt so good to get all that off - especially the fiberglass splint pieces. This weighs about 1/2. Because I'm plated & screwed together the dr was able to extend my arm out and bend my wrist back & forth. Still hurts but definitely an improvement. :)

Here's the best part - because I'm plated & screwed together - I can take the splint off to shower:):D

Anyone need an unused elephant condom?

I'm so glad to read your update. It sounds like you will end up with a good mobility and overall outcome. It just takes soooooo much time to heal. Take care and do the exercises they prescribe in PT and eventually you'll get there.
