Sorry I haven't posted in a very long time, but we are trying to get our bathroom (only one we have) done and its been a really BIG pain. Lots of mold, etc. behind the tile in the shower and under the tile on the floor as well as the walls! YUCK!!
Anyway, Thursday night about 10pm, we went up to bed. I was a little dizzy and thought it was because of my medication (soma for back problems). Then I got really sick to my stomach so I decided to come downstairs and get some pepto to calm it. I walked down the stairs and got to the dining room table (where are my meds are right now!) when I got the worst heartburn pain I have ever had. It was so bad, it sent me to the floor. Now, it took me about 3 minutes before I could pull myself back up to a standing position and try to get up the stairs to my hubby. I made it to the staircase and up one step before I got severe chest pain and pressure, lost my breath, starting sweating like a stuffed pig and could not breath. I landed on the floor since I couldn't stand and finally managed to call my hubby to come down. He got me on the couch (about 15 ft away) and called 911. When the ambulance got there, I still could not breath well and the pain was about a 9. They immediately placed me on a stretcher and took me out to the ambulance where they took my blood pressure and gave me a nitroglycerin and 4 baby aspirin. After about 15 minutes in the ambulance, they finally left my house and took me to the hospital (wrong one since hubby forgot my cardio is at a different hospital). Pain went away almost all the way but then I started trembling like crazy. They gave me ativan at the hospital and of course, did all the required heart attack tests. No heart attack, but they admitted me to be on the safe side.
On Friday, they wanted to do a heart cath, but my INR was 4.2 so they decided to do a medicated stress test. That came back abnormal but since my INR was still too high, the suggested that I stay in the hospital and get heparin shots and stop my coumadin so they could do the heart cath in a day or two. Now, the last time I stopped my coumadin for knee surgery in Feb., I was 3.4. Did not take coumadin for 3 days and only went down to 2.3 in that time. I was not going to stay in the hospital for a week just to get that down. I asked that I be able to go home and call MY cardio on Tuesday. They finally released me about 10pm Friday evening. I was ok, a little tired and bruised from all the needles on Saturday and for most of the day on Sunday. On Sunday night, my left arm started hurting and I got sick to my stomach again. When I went to bed, I told my hubby that I really didn't feel good. He wanted to take me back to hospital but I told him I wanted to wait. About 40 minutes after we went to bed, I felt my heart start racing and then within 2 minutes of that happening, the severe chest pain and pressure started again. I managed to wake hubby who ran downstairs and got my nitro. I took one and waited for about 15 minutes before I could breath again and the pain had subsided again.
Went to sleep finally after about 2 hours and seemed better yesterday. Low and behold, same thing happened again last night. Anyone have any ideas what could be happening here? I left a message for my cardio this morning, but its been 4 hours and I still have not heard from them. Now they are on lunch and won't be back til after 1pm. Thanks all......
