A little past second anniversary - going back to school

Had a mitral replacement (bovine) May of 2007. Now, I'm starting back to school to become a PA. Start in January 2010.

Inspired by a PA on my surgical team, I have completed biology and chemistry pre-reqs, worked as an EMT and a home health aide, and volunteered in an ER.

I hope to go into primary care but, who knows, after clinical year (2011) maybe I'll want to go into heart surgery as well.

that's good news. you have chosen a long road but a very rewarding one. My ex had his degree in business, then decided to become a dr, took the rest of premed subjects, went into med school, then on for psychiatry. All this after we had two children and one job - mine. YOu life will be set up once you get done. Congratulations and best wishes.
