Well, my husband did yard work for the first time. Cleaning up the yard before IKE came through and messed it up again. He said this was the first time he felt like doing something and went out and JUST DID IT.

We did a lot of cleaning, moving outside furniture, dragging out the camp stove, etc in preparation for IKE and he was able to do it all without exhaustion.

So all you 1-, 2-, and 3- month people: 4-months out seems to mark a major hurdle.

Glad your husband is making a good recovery, wishing a continued smooth ride.

It's good to read that Chris is feeling good! It takes awhile to get over replacement.

How did you fare with Ike?

We were without power or water for about 2 days -- fortunately, we are near a rural water pump station and when the power was restored to it we got water AND power! We were just to the east of the eye -- I think it was only considered a tropical storm when it went by. Our county was the hardest hit in the immediate area with power outages (many, many trees uprooted), but they are predicting that everyone here should have power restored Friday.
