Exactly 2 years ago I had my surgery. Aortic valve replacement. I had a mechanical valve placed when I was 47 years old.
No problem so far, still ticking.
I do a lot of cycling (3 or 4 times a week) without any issues. No medication, except for the anti-coagulation and my physical health is as it was before surgery.
The valve is still in my 'head' every day, of course not all day, but when it is quiet and you hear the valve tick, it often reminds me of the surgery.
Hopefully it will tick for many more years!
Good luck for all people in the waiting room.
