Hi Guys/Gals! Its been 8 yrs since i had my mitral valve repaired at CCF. Doing great but have a question. How often do you still visit your cardiologist assuming no problems, symptoms or other issues? I hadnt seen mine for a few years and needed clearance for a gallbladder surgery and he...

    2 years ago June 8th

Yup, Been two years ago that I had my mitral valve repaired at CCF after a bout with IE. I had the da Vinci robotic method and you can barely notice the scars today! I have had several echos since the date and all regurgitation has been trivial. I decided to take a more serious attitude about my...

Fast pulse and abnormal heart beat

Welp, I had to go back to the cardiologist yesterday. I devoloped a thumping sensation in my chest and neck, and some pain. They did an EKG, and my heart beat was abnormal, but was abnormal in a regular pattern: 1 regular beat, then 1 early beat, over and over. Also my resting pulse rate was...

    incision healing?

HI All. I had robotic MVR about 2 weeks ago, and under each incision, there is a kind of hard lump thing. Is this a normal part of the healing process? Will they go away? I never had surgery before so I don't know how this kind of thing heals up. Thanks. Steve

Anyone get FMLA paperwork fliied out by CCF?

Just curious, did you call the surgeons office to have them filled out? I just received my paperwork from CCF today and was under the impression that they would enclose the forms filled out by the doc, but there were no forms, just an appointment itinerary. After all, anyone with a job who is...

    Endocarditis, TEE question

Hi Guys. Yesterday I had my follow-up TEE after being treated for Endocarditis. According to my Cardiologist, there is still a mobile density on my posterior mitral leaf. I have not had any fevers, or felt ill in anyway since being in the hospital, and having 4 weeks of IV's. What could this be...

    Why lopressor?

When I left the hospital a month ago after being treated for Endocarditis, my cardiologist put me on a small dose of lopressor because of my mitral regurgitation. What does this drug do with regards to regurgitation? I suppose I could ask him next week at my TEE, but thought I'd throw it out...

    Intro..and a few questions

Hi All. Well, if anyone had told me a year ago I would be posting on this site, I wouldn't have believed them. My name is Steve, and I am 45 years old. I developed MVP from nowhere about 7 years ago, had an Echo done, and was told that while the valve leakage was moderate 2+, it was nothing to...
