Hi Larry and thanks for the very helpful information. It's good for all of us to know that there's a change in sight, even if it's a few years away.

    Long term care insurance

Thanks Ross. I was thinking of appealing it based on my atrial fibrillation having been caused by diseased valves that have now been replaced, but they already knew that. I may do it anyway, but I don't have much faith in insurance companies... Hope you're having a good weekend. Laura

Anybody know where I can get long term care insurance?

Hi. I had my valve replacement surgery in Sept 2008 and am doing well, but I've now been turned down for long term care insurance based on "History of Atrial Fibrillation in combination with Mitral and Aortic Valve Replacements". This seems terribly unfair to me, but I'm not here to vent, would...

    Irregular Beats After Dental Cleaning

Thanks, Steve! And here's a bit of good news. My heartbeat went back to normal over the last day. I'm going to call the dentist and my cardiologist to ask about all these points, and I thought of another: my INR was much higher than usual today. It's usually about 2.5 and today it was 4.3, so I...

    Irregular Beats After Dental Cleaning

Thanks! Maybe I'll ask about another pre-med. Will you let me know how it goes next time, Flowergirl? I was also thinking that maybe it's the hygienist, Cooker, because she was new the first time after my surgery, and I just figured it was my problem, but maybe it's because of how rough she is...

    Irregular Beats After Dental Cleaning

Hi. I had double valve replacements a little over a year ago, and have been feeling better and better. When I had my first post-surgery dental cleaning 6 months ago, as usual I took my antibiotics, and at first the only thing that was different from usual was that my gums bled all day from the...

    Yoga Questions

Thank you both for answering! :) I appreciate your advice and words of encouragement! (I don't seem to be able to get posts through email, so this is the only way I know to answer). I will tell my yoga instructor, and also try to get an answer from my cardiologist on this. Tomorrow's the first...

    Yoga Questions

Hi. Can you please help me with a couple of questions? I'll be going back to yoga class for the first time since my Sept. 24, 2008 double valve replacement surgery and I'm concerned about positions (like downward dog) that put your head in a lower position than your heart: (1) Will it put too...
