Scars on back from childhood surgery - question

I had coarctation surgery in 1967 and have a scar like you describe. There is still a kind of "numbness" about it that can be especially uncomfortable at times - kind of a prickly sensation. After some 43 years, I don't expect that to change... Another consequence that has manifest itself for...

    Guaranteed Issue Medical Plans

Good information, Luana. Thanks. Are the COBRA subsidies a temporary measure, or will that be an ongoing provision in the foreseeable future?

    Insurance and Medicare

As is the case with many of you, I cannot get health insurance except through a group employer. What happens at age 65 or when a person becomes eligible for Medicaire benefits in the US? Are pre-existing conditions "fully" covered?

    understanding echocardiography

Hi again... No, I do not have recoarctation. But there IS some narrowing where the coarctation used to be. Probably the same, relatively, as when the surgery was done over 40 years ago. I was 15 years old at the time. A PA is a Physician's Assistant. I thought a cardiac PA would be pretty...

    understanding echocardiography

coarctation issue coarctation issue Hi, I can relate to the confusion about the "aortic stenosis" and the coarctation. Seems like it should be the same thing. I also had a coarctation repair many years ago, so I was willing to dismiss the "borderline aortic stenosis" that was in the report...

    Life and health insurance

Dick, I'm sorry I didn't make that post very clear. That was kind of my point in stating what my daughter's insurance costs her. My son was dropped from our policy because he was not a student on his 19th birthday. He is now on a mission for our church, and his health insurance is covered by...
