Well my Carpenter Edwards Aortic tissue valve is coming up 8 years (installed 2011 - (71age), I train (run) most days, and still do 5km run in 30mins! (79age in July)

I was not very impressed by the talk, as I thought anyone 'waiting' for the operation would be 'scared to death' watching it! I do understand the situation, as I had a new tissue aorta valve in 2011 at 71 age.

Hi woulde I find it mind-boggling that you were out in 3 days! I must admit I was very crook when I had my 'tissue valve'. I was 71 age, and struggled out in 9 days! I wish you all the best for the future. I am training up for a half marathon in May. See Ya Brian

Hi epstns (Steve) Yes, you could be right, as I have told sooo... many people about changing my style! Got a bad back at present, but when better, will keep training for the 'Metronics 10 mile Global Heroes run in America next year. (if selected) Keep well Brian

Hi itsme2 I had my tissue valve at 71age. Now 4 years on, I am running most days - training for half marathon! I only take half aspirin, and tablet for my cholesterol. What many of the other people say ... makes sense, but for me, I didn't want to be on warfarin! Good Luck Brian

Hi AmyBL Congratulations to your son for running a 'marathon', a great accomplishment! I remember my first one - I couldn't even lie down after the event, as my legs were so sore! I had a terrible time for the next week, for being a 'postman' I couldn't bend down to put the mail in the boxes...
